Are you tired of the same old boring picnic condiments? Look no further, because I have the perfect solution for you: Caramelized Onion Dip.
Ingredients –– 2 tbsp fresh chives – 2 medium onions – 2 tbsp butter – 4 oz cream cheese, softened – 1/3 cup (2.8 oz) plain Greek yogurt – 1/3 cup (2.7 oz) mayonnaise – 1 tsp Worcestershire – pinch of salt – pinch of pepper For serving: – veggie sticks chips (optional)
On a chopping board, finely chop the onion and the fresh chives. In a medium skillet, heat the butter over medium heat. When it’s melted, stir in the onion. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the onion begins to soften. Then reduce heat to medium-low and cook until golden brown and caramelized. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
In a bowl, with an electric mixer, mix the cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Add in the mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, Worcestershire and mix well to combine.
Then add the caramelized onion, chopped chives, salt and pepper. Continue to stir until everything is combined. Cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving. Pour the Caramelized Onion Dip in a bowl and garnish with chopped chives, if desired. Serve with veggie sticks chips.
