Cucumber Canapes

Ingredients

– 1 loaf white or rye bread – 2 medium cucumbers – ¼ onion – 1 garlic clove – 1 green onion or chives – 1 cup mayonnaise – 3 oz cream cheese – 1/2 tsp cider vinegar – 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce – Pinch of paprika – pinch of curry powder – pinch of dried oregano – pinch of dried thyme – pinch of dried basil – pinch of dried parsley – pinch of dried dill For garnish: – red bell pepper  – fresh rosemary or fresh dill

On the cutting board, cut the edges of the cucumber, then cut it into circles. Set it aside. Also cut the onion, chives and garlic into small pieces. Set it aside. In a food processor or blender add the cream cheese, mayonnaise, onion, chives, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar and seasonings (paprika, curry powder, dried oregano, thyme, basil, parsley and dill). Blend until smooth and creamy. Refrigerate overnight.

Place slices of bread on the cutting board. With a round cutter, cut out circles from bread slices.

On a plate, place a slice of round bread, then spoon the mayonnaise mixture over a slice of bread. Place a slice of cucumber on top. Garnish with red bell pepper, previously cut into small cubes and fresh rosemary or dill.
